Day 4 - A Boring Day

Today was a boring day.... Really did nothing today other than life at school..... Just went for class then lunch and more class and finally back to the room. Because we had some homework to do, that is why we didn't went out with the guys to have nice dinner with Mr Chia and Ms Hock. :( I ate my noodles, like finally..... :) So, picture speaks a thousand words..... Let's just enjoy some of the pictures that I took today. :)

Reflection

I was told that in China, saying "thank you" is not very nice. I don't know why too. And surprisingly, it is actually quite true. Because I'm so used to saying "thank you" in Singapore as my parents taught me to because it is manners, I couldn't stop saying "thank you" to the people in China. Today, I was buying my lunch at the school canteen and I wanted a cup of drink. So i asked the woman, "可以给我一杯水吗?" and she replied "当然是一杯,哪有半杯水的啊。" I was like ............... Can't she just reply "好的。" ? Omg, I was so shocked that she replied me this way. So I just said "Ok. 给我一杯。" This shows that, in China, I do not need to ask questions like how politely I asked in Singapore. I just need to go straight to them and say what I want. And, even when I say thank you, they don't reply or look at me. :( In these 4 days, I have really learnt a lot. And I know that I will learn more in the upcoming days.... :)
