Day 24 - BBQ day! :)

Today was a fun day! We had PM lecture in the morning and we watched 2 videos, namely Battlestar Galactica and Elizabeth. After watching these videos, we were asked to write a short paragraph about how these videos relate to our module - Project Management. After lesson, we headed to the BBQ venue!!! Yayyy! Even before the BBQ started, I was already half dead because we had to walk from school 建设一路 to the BBQ venue just beside the 长江, which was located at 建设五路. It was quite a distance from school to BBQ venue, which was why I was half dead when we reached there.

A long long journey~

Jo and me :)

Zhen Zhao carrying chicken wings! :)

Finally, after 1 hour, we reached the place! Immediately, we put our bags down and started helping out with the preparation of the foods. I started doing work such as bbq-ing, pouring drinks into cups and taking bowls and chopsticks... Then, I went to skate with Jo and Michelle, which was just beside the BBQ place. 10RMB for as long as you want, CHEAP RIGHT?! :) We played for about 1 hour then we decided to head back. On the way back, Jo and I camwhored because the scenery was beautiful (the sunset) :D I played a bit of badminton as well! Like finally.... After so long in Wuhan, I finally get to hold a badminton racket. I love it so muchhhh! <3

After having our own activities, some of us decided to go back first. Jo, Dyanah, Sheila, Haoteng, Michelle and I went back together by FOOT! Another long walk from BBQ place to school. *faints* We wanted to take a cab back but there wasn't any cabs available for us at that moment. The sky was so dark at around 6pm and we could barely see the road in front of us. Today, I tried the food at the Muslim restaurant. It was nice. :)

Reflection

After today's BBQ session with the local students, I realised some differences between China and Singapore when it comes to BBQ-ing. In China, they barbaque vegetables while in Singapore we don't. Or am I supposed to say that the people here are very healthy? This is because even when it comes to BBQ-ing, they just couldn't leave vegetables out. And also every morning, there will be people playing badminton or table tennis in the school near our hostel. Also, their BBQ pits are small as compared to ours in Singapore. Lastly, whenever we bbq, we usually use butter for the foods. However, over here they use oil.

I feel that I have definitely come to the right place and at the right time. Being able to meet such friendly local students here can really make my day. They look so innocent to me when it comes to friendship because they do not treat us as strangers but their friends even when they just knew us for a week or so. This is one thing that I can hardly find in Singapore whereby people meet for just a few days and they can become close friends. Or maybe it could be that their attitude towards friendship are really just purely making friends with one another. Up till today, I have learnt a lot about the cultural differences between China and Singapore. This will be the most beneficial thing to me throughout this trip because I am able to learn more things that cannot be found in the textbook. :)

♥stay tuned!
